I was messing around on scrapjazz last night and I had asked an innocent question earlier in the day regarding using Xmas as an abbreviation. The firestorm that started just devasted me. I certainly didn't mean to ruffle so many feathers!!
How was I to know that some took that as being anti-Christian,etc? Wow. Stuff like that makes me realize what a world I live in. It does get tiresome trying to constantly keep from offending or hurting someone's feelings. How come it seems like I don't take things personally like so many other people do? Is it because I am open minded or is it because maybe I am appathetic?
Looking at it this morning, I think it is because I think everyone is entitled to their opinion, but they don't have the right to make me feel bad about having one that differs from their own. It is just out of my control how others choose to handle things, so I don't think I really caused the discussion to go the way it did, I just lit the candle. At least it wasn't a forest fire!!!
